Dhul Hijjah 1439h

Dhul Qa'adah 29, 1441h as of July 20, 2020

The crescent moon to commence the month of Dhul Hijjah was NOT sighted in Haramain (Makkah and Madina). Further to this, the moon is not sighted anywhere in the eastern corridor of the United States therefore as per HCC policy it has been decided unanimously that we will complete 30 days of Dhul Qa'dah In Sha Allah. The holy month of Dhul Hijjah begins on Wednesday July 22, 2020 and accordingly, the day of Arafah will be on Thursday July 30, 2020 and Eid ul Adha will be celebrated on Friday July 31, 2020.

Ramadan 1439h

Ramadan 29, 1441h, May 22, 2020

The crescent moon to commence the month of Shawwal was NOT sighted in Haramain (Makkah and Madina). Further to this, the moon is not sighted anywhere in the eastern corridor of the United States therefore as per HCC policy it has been decided unanimously that we will complete 30 days of Ramadhan In Sha Allah. Accordingly, Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday May 24, 2020 (1st of Shawwal 1441h). 

May Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala accept the fasting, prayers and all ibadaats during the sacred month of Ramadan.  In this difficult times, we pray Allah swt to shower HIS mercy on all of us. Aameen!

Sha'ban 29, 1441h as of April 23, 2020
The crescent moon to commence the month of Ramadan 1441h WAS SIGHTED in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  Based on the information HCC received, we will begin the sacred month of Ramadan from tomorrow Friday April 24, 2020. In She Allah.

We ask Allah swt to make this time easy upon the entire humanity, help us fast during the days, pray during the nights, and take the full advantage of this holy month by doing good deeds throughout the month of Ramadan. We seek refuge with Allah from the pandemic of COVID-19 and remove this epidemic from the world entirely. We ask Allah swt to keep all of us safe, healthy and full of eiman. A’ameen Ya Rub al A’alameen!

Dhul Hijjah 1439h

 

Dhul Qa'adah 29, 1440h as of August 1, 2019

The moon has been sighted in Saudi Arabia. 1st of Dhul Hijjah 1440h will be on Friday August 2, 2019, Arafah will be on Friday August 10, 2019 and Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on Saturday August 11, 2019. Insha'Allah. After holding a hearing session, Suadi Supreme Court made the decision that the month of Dhul Hijjah will be starting from tomorrow.

Saudi Judicial Court has announced today that the moon for Dhul Qa'adah was sighted. Accordingly, HCC has declared that the Islamic month of Dhul Qa'adah for 1440h will be starting from Saturday, July 4, 2019. Insha'Allah.

 


Ramadan 1439h

Ramadan 29, 1440h, June 3, 2019

Saudi Arabia's Supreme Court has announced that moon has sighted today.  Based on this information, Eid-ul-Fitr (1st Shawwal) will be celebrated on Tuesday June 4, 2019, Insha'Allah.

Makkah, Jun 3, 2019, SPA -- Upon testimonies of a number of adult witnesses who confirmed to have eye-spotted the new moon of Shawwal after sunset this evening, the Supreme Court of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced, following a session to consider the reports on sighting the new moon of Shawwal, that tomorrow Tuesday is the first day of Shawal 1440H, which is the blessed Eid Al-Fitr 1440H, the Royal Court said in a statement today.

The Supreme Court congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince, the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Muslim expatriates living in the country as well as all Islamic nations all over the world on the advent of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr.

The moon of Ramadan was not sighted on Saturday, May 4th 2019. Therefore, the Hijri Calendar Committee has decided to complete 30 days of Shaban and accordingly Monday, May 6, 2019, will be the first of Ramadan 1440h.

Muharram 1440h

Dhul Hijjah 30, 1439h as of September 10, 2018

The moon of Muharram was not sighted on Sunday, Sept 9, 2018, therefore, it is decided to complete 30 days of Dhul Hijjah and start the month of Muharram from Tuesday, Sept 11, 2018, Insh'Allah.

“Riyadh, Dhu-AlHijjah 30, 1439, September 10, 2018, SPA -- The Supreme Court has announced that tomorrow, Tuesday is the first day of Muharram,1440 H corresponding to 11th September 2018. It said in its statement that the crescent of the month of Muharram 1440 H was not sighted on Sunday evening 29/12/1439 H, there for the Supreme Court decided that Monday 30/12/1439H shall be the completion of the month of Dhu-AlHijjah and Tuesday 1/1/1440H is the first day of Muharram according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar. --SPA“

“Riyadh, Dhu-AlQa'dah 29, 1439, Aug 11, 2018, SPA -- The Supreme Court declared here tonight, following holding a hearing session, that today Saturday, the 29th day of the month of Dhu-AlQa'dah, is the last and sealing day of the month and, consequently, that Sunday shall be the first day of the incoming month of Dhul al-Hijjah, for this year 1439 AH, according to the Calendar of Umul Qura. The session was presided over by the President of the Supreme Court Ghihab bin Mohammed al-Ghihab. -- SPA“

Saudi Judicial Court has announced today that the moon for Dhul Qa'adah was sighted. Accordingly, HCC has declared that the Islamic month of Dhul Qa'adah for 1439h will be starting from Saturday, July 14, 2018. Insha'Allah.

Saudi Arabia's Supreme Court has announced that moon has sighted today.  Based on this information, Eid-ul-Fitr (1st Shawwal) will be celebrated on Friday June 15, 2018, Insha'Allah.

“Makkah, Ramadan 29, 1439, Jun 14, 2018, SPA -- Upon testimonies of a number of adult witnesses who confirmed to have eye-spoted the new moon of Shawwal after sunset this evening, the Supreme Court of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced, following an extraordinary session to consider whether there are reports on sighting the new moon of Shawwal, that tomorrow Friday is the first day of Shawal 1439 H. which is teh blessed Eid Al-Fitr 1439H, the Royal Court said in a statement.

The statement said the Supreme Court has informed the Royal Court that the measure was taken as per the tradition and instructions of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) who conditioned fasting and break-fasting on seeing the moon by naked eyes.
The Court congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince, the government and citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Muslim expatriates living in the country as well as all Islamic nations all over the world on the advent of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr.
