Dhul Hijjah 30, 1439h as of September 10, 2018

The moon of Muharram was not sighted on Sunday, Sept 9, 2018, therefore, it is decided to complete 30 days of Dhul Hijjah and start the month of Muharram from Tuesday, Sept 11, 2018, Insh'Allah.

“Riyadh, Dhu-AlHijjah 30, 1439, September 10, 2018, SPA -- The Supreme Court has announced that tomorrow, Tuesday is the first day of Muharram,1440 H corresponding to 11th September 2018. It said in its statement that the crescent of the month of Muharram 1440 H was not sighted on Sunday evening 29/12/1439 H, there for the Supreme Court decided that Monday 30/12/1439H shall be the completion of the month of Dhu-AlHijjah and Tuesday 1/1/1440H is the first day of Muharram according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar. --SPA“

We are very pleased to announce that another organization, Islamic Center of Old Bridge (ICOB) has joined Muslim Center of Middlesex County (MCMC), Muslim Community of New Jersey (MCNJ), Masjid Al-Wali, and Islamic Center of East Brunswick (ICEB) in the ‘Hijri Calendar Committee’. The ‘Hijri Calendar Committee’ will declare the start of the Islamic (Hijri) months based on the agreed upon policy. We pray that Allah Subhanhu wata’la continue to put barakah in this beautiful effort of uniting Muslims living in our communities in the celebration of our blessed occasions and festivals.

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

With the infinite blessings and mercy of Allah Subhanahu wata'la, we are pleased to announce about an unprecedented show of unity and cooperation between the four local Islamic Centers. In a time, when disagreements and refutations thrive and indulge people, any sign and gesture of unity is a time to celebrate.

Muslim Center of Middlesex County (MCMC), Muslim Community of New Jersey (MCNJ), Masjid Al-Wali, and Islamic Center of East Brunswick (ICEB) have agreed on a unified policy for declaring the start of the Islamic (Hijri) months. 

We have formed a committee, ‘Hijri Calendar Committee’ which will be responsible for making these decisions. 

We pray that Allah Subhanhu wata’la put barakah this beautiful effort of unifying Muslims living in the Central Jersey and surrounding areas in the celebration of these blessed occasions and festivals.
